Foul Weather Meeting Cancellation Policy
In case of inclement weather, the RUG follows the Fairfax County decision
about cancellation. Fairfax schools make a decision about opening or
closing school buildings on Saturdays by 5:00 AM of that day. An
announcement is made shortly thereafter via several media. Fairfax
County residents may view Channel 21 on their cable system. Several
radio stations, including WMAL (630 AM) and WWDC (1260 AM)
carry the announcement. You can also call the hot line (703-246-2500)
to hear a recorded announcement or check the Fairfax County Public
Schools website at
If there is no announcement about schools being closed, you may assume
that they are open, and that the RUG meeting will be held as scheduled.
